Body Hair Transplantation

Body Hair Transplantation

WHAT IS BODY HAIR TRANSPLANTATION (BHT)?

Traditional hair transplantation is taking donor grafts from the rear of the patient's head. In some instances, when the number of grafts that can be harvested safely from the donor area traditionally used isn't enough for our needs, the hair restoration specialist in Istanbul can utilize other donor sites to harvest additional hair grafts. This will increase the number of grafts transplanted, which allows us to take on a larger portion of the region affected by the loss of hair or achieve a higher amount of transplants.

Transplantation of body hair is more complex because it requires anaesthesia before being applied to other regions. Grafts derived from these regions are not appropriate for use on the hairline due to cosmetic reasons. Instead, body hair grafts are commonly used to improve the scalp's volume and the crown.

WHICH AREAS OF THE BODY we CAN USED AS AN ALTERNATIVE DONOR HAIR

If using hair from the body to be grafted onto the scalp, the doctor. Colak primarily extracts grafts from two different areas:

BEARD (UNDER THE CHIN)

Donor grafts can be taken from the beard of a patient. The extraction site is under the chin. The area is left with little visible evidence following the healing phase. To prevent scarring of the donor site, up to 1000 grafts are extracted at once. These grafts may be utilized to, for instance, create density at the top of the scalp as well as the crown.

CHEST

In some instances, donor grafts can be taken from the chest region. This procedure isn't painful and can be performed using local anaesthesia. The typical situation is that this region doesn't yield many donor grafts. It is only utilized when all other donor sites have been exhausted. Chest grafts are a great option to increase the density of certain parts of the hair.

IS BODY HAIR TRANSPLANTATION PAINFUL?

In most instances, hair grafts from the body are taken under local anaesthesia. This means that patients aren't afflicted with discomfort or pain during this procedure.
