Partial Shave Hair Transplantation

Partial Shave Hair Transplantation

Partial Shave Hair Transplantation

Do the hairs on the head have to be shaved in order to get hair transplants?

Most of the time it is the case that the procedure of FUE hair transplant involves complete shaving of a patient's scalp. The donor's area must be shaved in order to effectively take the donor hair grafts. Recipient areas should also be trimmed in order to insert many Grafts and achieve the highest density. The majority of patients choose shaving the entire area.

Can it be avoided shaving your entire head during an operation to transplant hair?

In some instances it is possible to skip a complete shaving. We provide the "partial-shave" procedures primarily to patients looking to place grafts into the frontal parts that are on the scalp. This kind or "partial-shave" procedure is suitable for patients who wish to reduce or shape their hairline. However, in all of these situations the donor area in the rear of the head will have to be cut to remove hair grafts.

It is possible to get an entire hair transplant without shaving?

We are testing the possibility of using a method to extract grafts with no shaving donor areas. In the "no-shave" procedures, grafts are removed and then implanted with hair remaining attached. The process of removing and implanting using this technique is extremely slow. In the majority of cases, 500-700 grafts could be transplanted this way within a single appointment. Thus, the price of one graft transplanted during an "no-shave" transplant is approximately 2 euros.
